LOWER DIR: Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Lower Dir on Tuesday gave the district administration and police an ultimatum until Friday, October 9, to arrest the suspects involved in the robbery and killing of two brothers on the Kamar Kotkay-Maidan Bypass Road, warning of protests and a siege of the district police officer’s office if no progress was made.
Speaking at a press conference at the party’s district secretariat, Ahyaul Uloom, Balambat, JI Lower Dir emir Maulana Asadullah, naib emir Syed Mohammad Shah, district general secretary Shoaib Ahmad, information secretary Malik Sher Bahadur Khan, former MPAs Izazul Mulk Afkari and Saeed Gul and JI district youth president Atiqur Rehman strongly condemned the incident and expressed concern over the delay in the arrest of the perpetrators.
The JI leaders said the failure to apprehend the suspects two days after the incident had raised serious questions about law enforcement’s response to the crime.
