FDA takes action against three housing schemes

TOBA TEK SINGH: The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) on Monday took action against three housing schemes for violations in Dijkot and the Samundri Road area of Faisalabad, demolished illegal constructions and sealed their offices and gates.

An FDA spokesperson said a team, supervised by Director Town Planning Asma Mohsin, took action against two illegal schemes in Chak 263 RB, Dijkot.

The team demolished the illegal constructions with heavy machinery and also sealed the entrance gate. Similarly, action was taken against the Gulshan-e-Haram Housing Scheme near Niamuanah, Samundri Road, for converting residential plots into commercial ones without approval. The shops constructed there were demolished.

BURNT: The woman who was set ablaze by her husband over a domestic dispute in Gojra on Saturday succumbed to her burns at the Allied Hospital, Faisalabad.

Demolishes illegal constructions, seals offices and gates

Gojra City police said Nisar Ahmad had a fight with his wife, Tasleem Akhtar, over some family matter and he had sprinkled her with petrol before setting her clothes on fire.

She had received burns all over her body and was rushed to Gojra THQ Hospital where doctors had referred her to Allied Hospital. She breathed her last on Monday.

ELECTROCUTED: A youth was electrocuted and his mother fainted after touching an electric wire laid around a maize field by a farmer to save the crop from animals and thieves in Chak 408-GB Latkan Ki Jhok, Tandlianwala.

Abid Hussain (19) and his mother Meena Bibi (45) had gone to the field to cut grass for their animals when the boy received an electric shock while his mother tried to save him.

The boy died while his mother fainted. The woman was shifted to THQ Hospital Tandlianwala.

In Chak 291-GB Lahorianwala, Rajana, a man was electrocuted.

According to Rescue 1122, Muhammad Shahid (50) had wet hands after bath and he received electric shocks when he went to put his mobile phone on charging.

He fainted and expired at the Rajana Rural Health Centre.

ARRESTED: A human trafficker, one of the top 10 proclaimed offenders, has been arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) from Jhang.

Mazhar Abbas, a resident of Mohallah Sultan Baghwala, Jhang, was booked in 2016.

The accused had extorted money from the complainants on the pretext of arranging employment visas for Dubai. However, after receiving the money, he neither arranged the employment visas nor returned the extorted amount.

RAPE: A step-uncle raped his nine-year-old niece in Ghousia Colony of Mamukanjan.

Complainant Waqas Faryad alleged in his FIR registered with Mamukanjan City police that the minor neighbour girl was living with her grandmother as her mother had died and her father was working in Azad Kashmir.

He said the child was learning the Holy Quran from his sister whom she told that her step-uncle had repeatedly raped her by giving her death threats.

Police have arrested the suspect.

MURDER: The husband turned out to be the killer of his wife in Thikriwala, Faisalabad.

Police said deceased Sumera Bibi (30) was found murdered in the fields outside the village a few days ago.

Her husband, Muhammad Arif, had informed the police that an unidentified person had shot her dead; however, police took him into custody for interrogation.

During the interrogation, he confessed that he wanted to contract a second marriage but Sumera was not allowing him to do so. At this, he shot her dead when he accompanied her to the fields.
