ISLAMABAD: A declaration adopted at a congress of the constitutional courts in Asia emphasised that artificial intelligence must remain an auxiliary tool and should not replace the importance of independent judgement and constitutional responsibility of judges.
A delegation comprising Justice Irfan Saadat Khan and Justice Naeem Akhter Afghan represented Pakistan’s Supreme Court at the seventh congress of the Association of Asian Constitutional Courts (AACC), held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
The congress adopted the Samarkand Declaration, reaffirming the supremacy of the constitution, judicial independence, human rights and the rule of law as fundamental pillars.
