SUKKUR, July 24: Three persons were killed and four others injured in an armed clash between Lolais and Chachars in the Draman Lolai village in Ghotki district on Monday.

According to reports reaching here, a group of Chachar tribesmen raided the Draman Lolai village and opened fire which was returned by the Lolai tribesmen.

The tribes which have an old dispute between them exchanged fire for an hour as a result of which three persons were killed on the spot, while four others were injured and taken to a Ghotki hospital.

Those killed included Saghir Lolai, Sher Ali Lolai and Yasin Lolai, while the injured were identified as Gul Hassan Lolai, Nazar Mohammad Lolai, Ali Gohar Chachar and Qalandar Chachar.

Police claimed that the clash was result of an old enmity between two groups of hardened criminals on led by Moosa Lolai and the other was led by Qadri Chachar, which so far have claimed 11 lives and maimed several persons.

No case was registered.

APC ATTACKED: An Armed Personal Carrier of Khairpur police was destroyed by armed outlaws, in Laloo Kandhro Village, in the jurisdiction of Tando Masti police station on the midnight of Sunday and Monday.

According to the reports, an APC (Mujahid-1) of Tando Masti police was patrolling in Laloo Kandhro Village, in the wake of the ongoing dispute between Kandhro and Maitlo tribesmen.

A group of outlaws fired rockets upon it, resultantly the APC was got completely destroyed.

No casualty or injury was reported.

Later, police raided some nearby villages and arrested 10 suspects, but declined to disclose their names.

No case was registered till filing of this report.

It may be mentioned here that two days back, Tando Masti police, following an encounter, claimed to have arrested bandit Ali Khan Jatoi and his two accomplices Hadi Bux and Sanaullah Jatoi.

On this Saroo Kandhro, another accomplice of Ali Khan Jatoi, had threatened of retaliation.

On Sunday night, when the APC was on a routine patrol, some armed outlaws lobbed rockets on it.

Police officials, however, pledged that: “we are not afraid of such actions, and operation against outlaws would continue”.
