KARACHI: The judicial commission formed to investigate the circumstances and possible negligence in the Mir Raza Ali murder on Friday issued notices to a business partner of the victim, his employees and others to record their testimonies on Sept 15.
The one-member commission headed by Justice Omar Sial of the Sindh High Court has also been tasked with making recommendations for further investigation and forensic analysis or legal/departmental action.
It has summoned Ahsan Anis Shamsi, who has a 30 per cent partnership in the victim’s eatery Wafflix, the eatery’s manager Sherry and accountant Muhammad Umair Khan for Sept 15.
The commission also issued notice to Asad Ali Butt and Usman Buzai as Muhammad Ahmed Bhardey, main business partner of the deceased, had disclosed their names in connection with Mir’s business during his statement before the commission.
It said that the bailiff should coordinate with investigating officer Siraj Lashari for serving notices to witnesses in case their details were not available with the commission.
It further put Hassan Tanoli, who is residing in Australia and is said to be among creditors, on e-notice for recording his statement via zoom/electronic mode on Sept 15.
