ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb committed on Thursday to Dutch and interested foreign businesses to provide policy consistency and a stable situation rather than a boom-or-bust cycle.

“Pakistan is in a good place with respect to trade and investment. On the back of external validation and growing confidence following global rating agencies, we are very committed to developing and assisting in any way we can,” Mr Aurangzeb said while speaking at a Round Table Conference and Networking Reception, hosted at the Netherlands Ambassador’s Residence, bringing together Dutch business leaders, senior Pakistani executives, government representatives and members of the diplomatic community to advance economic dialogue and long-term commercial ties.

The event showcased the deep footprint of the Dutch businesses in Pakistan. With over 50 firms present across sectors, including agriculture, food and beverage and industrial storage, the Netherlands was the second-largest trading partner for Pakistan within the EU, contributing to employment and food security.
