SWAT: Police on Sunday arrested hotel management after local people complained about loud late-night music parties in Palogah, Kalam area.
The action was taken after social media posts circulated alleging that loud music and a late-night party were being held at a local hotel in Palogah, Kalam, prompting locals to demand immediate action from the DIG Malakand and DPO Swat.
Taking immediate notice of the matter, DPO Bar Swat Mushtaq Ahmad ordered legal action against the resort owner for allegedly holding an unauthorised party without obtaining permission from the district administration or police and for violating sound regulations.
The DPO also ordered immediate suspension of the SHO Kalam police station, directing him to report to the police lines.
The SHO was suspended for failing to inform his senior ofcers about the situation and for not taking timely action to prevent the alleged unauthorised activity.
Meanwhile, residents expressed concern over poorly managed and unregulated riverside construction in the area.
They said that the heavy and frequent construction along the riverbanks was not only affecting the natural environment but was also disfiguring the scenic beauty of Swat Valley.
The residents called for stricter enforcement of construction regulations and effective measures to protect the valley’s natural landscape.
