TOBA TEK SINGH: A man killed his two minor grandsons with a chopper during a fight with his wife and daughter-in-law for not offering prayers in Ghausia Colony of Mamukanjan area near Faisalabad on Saturday night. He also hit his wife and daughter-in-law in their heads, injuring them critically.

According to first information report, Humaira Perveen, wife of Muhammad Nadeem, said her father-in-law Shah Muhammad (60) had a fight with his wife, Asia Bibi, and Humaira herself for not offering prayers.

He attacked both of them with a chopper and injured them. Shah Muhammad attempted to attack his granddaughters, Anaiza (12) and Zunaira (10) but Humaira, along with Asia, took the girls and hid in a room to escape from the suspect. Failing to target both minor girls, the suspect struck Humaira’s two minor sons, Adeel (5) and Nabil (6), on their heads with the chopper, killing them at the scene. Both the injured women were shifted to the Mamukanjan Rural Health Centre.

Shah Muhammad was overpowered by the locals and handed over to police. A case has been registered against the suspect on the complaint of Humaira.

Critically injures wife and daughter-in-law

The complainant said Shah Muhammad used to impose unnecessary restrictions on her, his wife and children and would get angry very quickly over minor things. She added that her husband, Nadeem, was a tailor and was working in Dubai.

Humaira’s father told reporters that the suspect was a religious fanatic who never allowed female members of his family to use mobile phone and there was just one mobile phone in the entire house, which was allowed by him to just talk to his son on calls in Dubai.
