RAHIM YAR KHAN: An inter-provincial robber wanted by Sindh police has been killed during an alleged encounter with Rahim Yar Khan police. He was identified as Rizwan alias Irfan Shar, a resident of Khairpur, Sindh.

On the other hand, Rizwan’s brother, in a video, claimed that Station House Officer (SHO) Jam Aftab with other personnel of Rahim Yar Khan police had taken Rizwan into custody when he was travelling to Sindh.

According to the police handout, the Sindh government had announced head money of Rs5m for Shar. Police gave the same template as given in all other alleged encounters across Punjab, saying that at Wali Mor, they signalled three motorcyclists to stop but the suspects opened fire on them. During the shoot-out, one of them, Irfan Shar, was shot dead.
