ISLAMABAD, July 20: Senior Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani has said that the Indian army is engaged in genocide of the Kashmiri people.

While addressing a press conference in Srinagar on Thursday, he said the Kashmiris were struggling for their right to self-determination which was promised to them under the United Nations resolutions, KMS reported.

He appealed the international community to help end massive human rights violations in the held territory.

In responding to a question, he said India was using various tactics to defame Kashmiris’ liberation movement.

Syed Gilani said Kashmiris wanted solution of the dispute through democratic process but India was not sincere. India had occupied Kashmir by force and Kashmiris would not sit at ease till they broke free from Indian occupation, he added.—APP
