QUETTA: Balochistan High Court Chief Justice Kamran Khan Mulakhail has said that the quality of education and procedures at law colleges need to be reviewed in view of the growing number of lawyers.
He also said that a video-link facility and a one-window operation for case-related matters were being introduced at the high court to facilitate litigants and lawyers from remote areas.
He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held to welcome the newly appointed additional judges.
Justice Main Rauf Atta, Justice Najam Mengal, Justice Abdul Qayyum Lehri, Balochistan High Court Bar Association President Mir Attaullah Langove and others attended the ceremony.
Justice Mulakhail said the number of lawyers was increasing day by day, but instead of providing proper education to law graduates, degrees were often being awarded without adequate academic training.
“This trend needs to be changed,” he said, stressing that bar associations and other lawyers’ organisations should pay special attention to the issue.
