KARACHI: The teachers’ associations of the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (Fuuast) have again demanded resolution of the financial and administrative crisis at the varsity and expressed concern that faculty members are being targeted by the university administration for raising their voice for their legitimate rights.
Speaking at a press conference at the Karachi Press Club on Tuesday, teachers from the Abdul Haq and Gulshan-i-Iqbal campuses referred to the attempts to include certain senior teachers in the investigation of a case concerning an alleged attack on a campus security officer and stated that teachers were not fighting any personal battle against the administration but were demanding their legitimate financial rights.
The administration, they said, should engage with teachers through dialogue instead of creating confrontation.
