LAHORE: Punjab University has detained result of two candidates for their alleged fraudulent appearance in the LLB exams despite being expelled from the university for resorting to violence.

According to PU spokesperson, Arslan Aslam and Ammad Akhtar were expelled by the university disciplinary committee in 2025 for beating up a teacher’s son.

They were also fined Rs50,000 each, included in the “red list” to prevent them from re-applying for admission to PU in the future and declared as persona non grata.

Arslan subsequently filed an appeal against the university’s decision to expel him.

However, the Appeal Committee rejected his appeal and upheld the decision of the Disciplinary Committee.

Despite the disciplinary action, Arslan and Ammad allegedly submitted LLB examination admission forms through fraudulent means and appeared in the exams.

After the alleged irregularity came to light, the PU examinations department withheld the results of both candidates and initiated unfair means cases (UMCs) to determine responsibility and take further action in accordance with university rules.
