LAHORE: A modern Reverse Osmosis (RO) water filtration plant to provide clean drinking water to nursing students and a new classroom have been formally inaugurated at the Nursing Hostel of the Lahore General Hospital (LGH).
In addition, 100 modern chairs have also been handed over to the hostel administration.
All these facilities were completed with the support of philanthropists.
Ameer-ud-Din Medical College (AMC) Principal Prof Dr Farooq Afzal inaugurated the filtration plant and the classroom at a ceremony also attended by LGH Medical Superintendent Prof Dr Faryad Hussain, Idris Rana, Dr Abdul Aziz, Dr Sandus Tahir, Samar Naz, Saima Fateh, nursing instructors and a large number of nursing staff.
On the occasion, Prof Afzal said the steps taken to elevate the quality of nursing education and training would produce far-reaching results and provide the health sector with highly competent and professional staff.
Speaking to the students, the principal warned that no compromise or negligence would be tolerated in the standards of nursing education and training.
He stressedthat students must focus on their education rather than seeking shortcuts, so they can deliver the best possible patient care.
Appreciating the philanthropic spirit of the donors, the principal said these initiatives reflect the resolve of LGH to bring nursing education, training and residential facilities up to international standards.
