Traffic through the Strait of Hormuz dropped sharply over the weekend, vessel tracker MaritimeTraffic says according to Al Jazeera.
Crossings went from 15 on Friday to 11 on Saturday, and 6 on Sunday, the tracker said.
The data showed 17 vessels passed through the Iranian Unilateral Scheme route, while 10 others took a route classified as “undetermined”.
In the Bab al-Mandeb Strait that connects the Red Sea to the Indian Ocean, much busier traffic saw 116 crossings over the same period.
