GUJRAT: Forty-five PML-N workers were booked on Tuesday for resorting to aerial firing at Jalalpur Jattan while celebrating the victory of their candidate in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) election.

PML-N’s Zeeshan Ali Younis secured victory in LA-38 (Gujrat, Wazirabad and Mandi Bahauddin) polls held on Aug 2 by defeating Chaudhary Akbar Ibrahim of the PML-Q.

To celebrate the win, the FIR said, 10 nominated and 35 unidentified people on motorbikes took out a procession from Petianwala Chowk of the city. They marched on the city roads to reach the outhouse in Kulachor, a nearby locality, where they resorted to aerial firing.

When the police reached there, the suspects fled.

The Jalalpur Jattan Saddar Police Station registered the case on the report of Sub-Inspector Naaem Abbas.
