RAWALPINDI: Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Salman Ghani and Regional Police Officer Babar Sarfraz Alpa visited various polling stations in connection with the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) elections here on Sunday.

During the visit, they reviewed the security arrangements, election management, CCTV monitoring, polling process, facilities being provided to voters and the overall electoral environment.

They also interacted with voters at the polling stations to seek feedback regarding the facilities available and the overall election atmosphere.

They visited the Saddar Cantt, Mandra and other polling stations in Dhudial and Chakwal city. They received detailed briefings from the relevant administrative and police officers regarding the election arrangements.

The commissioner directed the concerned authorities to ensure the provision of the best possible facilities at all polling stations. He said every effort must be made to facilitate senior citizens, women and persons with disabilities, ensuring that no voter faced unnecessary delays or inconvenience.

He instructed that the availability of clean drinking water, shaded areas, adequate seating arrangements, electricity and other essential amenities at all polling stations must be ensured.

The commissioner stated that the Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections were a significant national responsibility and ensuring their transparent, free, fair and peaceful conduct was the foremost priority of the Punjab government.

He stressed that all administrative affairs must be conducted with complete neutrality, transparency and in accordance with the law to facilitate the conduct of elections.
