LAKKI MARWAT: Three young men were shot dead over a petty dispute in the Langerkhel Hathi Khan area here on Saturday, the police said.

They said that the triple murder occurred within the limits of the Lakki city police station.

The deceased were identified as Mehradullah Jan, 19, Mohammad Khan, 18, and Mohammad Bilal, 20, and their bodies were dispatched to the Government City Hospital.

A complainant, Samiullah, 35, brother of Mehradullah Jan, told police that he, along with relatives, was going to his village from the football ground.

“Mehradullah, Mohammad Khan and Bilal were going ahead of us, and when they reached near the shop of Misal Khan, armed suspects, including Naushad, Irshad, Feroz and their two unidentified accomplices, appeared from the village side and opened fire on them, killing the three on the spot,” he said.

The complainant said an exchange of harsh words between Mehradullah and Irshad led to the triple murder incident.

Police said that the bodies were handed over to relatives after fulfilling medico-legal formalities at the hospital.

The police initiated an investigation after registering a case.
