ISLAMABAD: Pakistan booked their place in the quarter-finals of the World Junior Squash Championships men’s team event after defeating Canada 2-0 at White Oaks Resort & Spa in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada.

According to the information made available here by the Pakistan Squash Federation on Wednesday, Nauman Khan gave Pakistan a flying start with a convincing 3-0 (11-5, 13-11, 11-9) victory over Colten McLaughlin in the opening singles.

Abdullah Nawaz then sealed Pakistan’s passage to the last-eight stage as he battled past Calder Murray in a thrilling five-game contest, winning 9-11, 11-7, 11-9, 6-11, 11-3.

Pakistan in the quarter-finals face defending champions Egypt, who defeated Ireland 3-0 in the pre-quarterfinals, on Thursday.
