HYDERABAD: A fire broke out at a regional store belonging to the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco) on Wednesday, causing damage to materials stored at the site.

The facility is located on Tando Mohammad Khan Road, near Nara Prison. The cause of the blaze was not immediately clear. Goods kept in the open area were either burnt or damaged before Rescue 1122 personnel and firefighters arrived at the scene to bring the flames under control.

However, a Hesco spokesman disputed initial reports, claiming the fire had originated in nearby bushes and had not affected stored inventory. He added that no major damage had occurred as the blaze was confined to an area near the store’s perimeter wall.

According to the spokesman, Hesco’s chief has ordered a full report on the incident within 24 hours. Supply Chain Management Chief Ammar Khan Jadoon and Director Shahid Daudpota also rushed to the scene. While maintaining that no significant losses were sustained, officials confirmed that an inquiry will be held to determine how the fire started.
