JI leader passes away

LAHORE: Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Pakistan Secretary General Ameerul Azeem passed away on Wednesday after battling cancer.
According to a statement issued by the party, Ameerul Azeem had been suffering from cancer for some time but continued to discharge his organisational responsibilities until his final days, showing what the party described as remarkable patience and perseverance.
JI chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman termed his death an irreparable loss for the party and prayed for his forgiveness, elevated rank in the hereafter, and patience for his family, relatives and party workers.
