Larkana ACP honours two writers

LARKANA: An evening was held in honour to distinguished educationist Gulsher Soomro and renowned poet, short-story writer and novelist Ahmed Ali Sabir Chandio at the Arts Council of Pakistan (ACP), Larkana.

Eminent Sindhi man of letters Isa Memon presided over the event held the other day, while Akhtar Piya, chairman of the ACP Lar­kana’s Literature Depar­tment, welcomed the guests.

In his presidential addr­ess, Mr Memon remarked that the gathering reflected the department’s tradition of honouring the “sons of the soil” during their lifetimes. He described Mr Soomro as a figure of great stature in education, noting that the strong turnout.
