KARACHI, July 16: Allama Hassan Turabi was punished for his support to the Palestinians to liberate Al-Quds from the clutches of Israel, said Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Pakistan Naib Amir Prof Abdul Ghafoor Ahmed.

He was speaking at an annual training moot of the Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) Karachi here on Sunday. Prof Ghafoor said that the martyrdom of Allama Turabi had proved that Jihad against the forces of evil would continue.

He charged that the announcements regarding the early arrest of the killers were nothing but white lies, as many other Ulema had been murdered in Karachi in the past and the administration had failed to arrest their killers.

Prof Ghafoor accused the ruling class of not taking a firm stand before India on the Kashmir issue.

He said that today atrocities of the Indian army meted out to the innocent Kashmiris were on their peak, but the world was playing a role of silent spectator.

He alleged that our rulers had forgotten the purpose of the creation of Pakistan.

Prof Ghafoor said that Islam was the future of Pakistan and all hopes were now pinned on youth. He said that the younger generation was the catalyst of change.

Prof Ghafoor lauded efforts of the IJT activists for upholding the cause of Pakistan and Islam, and hoped that they would continue this praiseworthy tradition. —PPI
