RAWALPINDI: A man allegedly killed his wife, mother of three, over a domestic dispute and then attempted suicide by consuming acid in Kahuta, police said on Monday.

A close relative of the victims informed the police that Fauzia Gul, 30, had been axed to death by her husband Shakeel Zia. The suspected killer also consumed acid to commit suicide.

Responding to the emergency call, Rescue 1122 and DSP Kahuta Waqar Azeem along with a police team reached the spot and found the woman dead with her throat slit on her bed.

The Rescue 1122 team provided first aid to the man and shifted him to hospital. After collecting forensic evidence, the woman’s body was also shifted to hospital by the police.

According to the police, the couple had three children.

The police initial investigation showed that there was a domestic dispute between the husband and wife and the latter had left her home and returned a few days ago. The police registered a case after conducting a postmortem on the body.

Two arrested

Police have arrested two suspects on the charge of killing a TikTok user and injuring his friend in the Lalkurti area of Civil Lines police station.

The deceased and the suspects used to upload videos against each other on TikTok leading to the firing incident.

According to police officials, the investigation into the murder case was ongoing and the suspects had gone into hiding. On the third day of the incident, the police arrested both the suspects using technical and human intelligence sources.
