KARACHI, July 14: Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister on Information Technology (IT), Environment, and Alternate Energy Mohammad Noman Saigal, said here on Friday that the government is trying to get the latest computerized system from Japan for an early prediction of natural disasters.

Speaking at a press conference here at his office on Friday, Saigal said his department was trying to motivate foreign investors to help in the rehabilitation work in the earthquake-hit areas and added that negotiations were under way with investors from Europe to start various project of IT, cleaning of water and alternate energy in these areas. These projects would be built on BOT bases, he added.

He said economic activities, especially tourism, was severely affected in the earthquake-hit areas. The government, he said, would also help the local government in promoting tourism in the earthquake- hit areas.

Baba Hyder Zaman District Nazim Abbottabad, appreciated the relief activities of the Muttahida Quami Movement in earthquake-hit areas.—PPI
