KARACHI: In a swift and coordinated emergency response, Pakistan Navy, in coordination with Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA), successfully rescued all 20 crew members from a sinking cargo dhow operating east of Ormara on Thursday.

The cargo dhow, which was transiting from Karachi to the Gulf of Oman, experienced severe flooding. The situation quickly escalated due to deteriorating weather conditions at sea, placing the vessel and its crew in immediate danger.

Upon receipt of the distress call, the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre promptly coordinated with Pakistan Navy to initiate an immediate search and rescue operation.

Pakistan Navy swiftly mobilised and deployed both surface and air assets. PNS Hunain was immediately diverted to the scene to undertake the rescue operation. Additionally, a Sea King helicopter was simultaneously tasked to provide critical aerial surveillance and extraction support.

Owing to the rapid response and professional execution by Pakistan Navy units, all 20 crew members were safely recovered from the distressed vessel and are receiving the necessary medical care and attention.
