Edhi remembered on 10th death anniversary

KARACHI: Legendary humanitarian Mualana Abdul Sattar Edhi’s lifelong dedication to charity and service was remembered on his 10th death anniversary during a commemorative event titled ‘Edhi Life and Humanity’ at the community space Mehar Ghar in Lyari on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) Chairperson Asad Iqbal Butt described Abdul Sattar Edhi as an “amazing personality whose sole mission was to provide relief and support to deserving and marginalised people”. He added that Edhi’s humanitarian work has earned widespread recognition not only across Pakistan but around the world as well.

Faisal Edhi, son of late Edhi who heads the Edhi Foundation, reaffirmed his commitment to carrying forward his father’s mission.

“The Edhi Foundation continues its tireless work to serve the needy and uphold the values Edhi Sahab championed throughout his life,” he said.

Earlier, digital creator Zar Khan Baloch provided a detailed background on Edhi’s inspiring life and his extraordinary human­i­tarian contributions.
