GUJRAT: A man allegedly stabbed to death his 18-year-old daughter and injured at least five others in a knife attack in the Satellite Town locality of Mandi Bahauddin on Saturday.

The accused man was allegedly annoyed with his family after his wife left his house a few days ago due to domestic issues.

Reports claimed that one Umar Farooq attacked his daughter Zainab (18) with a knife leaving her dead on the spot.

The suspects allegedly also attacked other family members with the same knife when they tried to save the girl during the attack.

The suspect’s 60 years old mother Shehnaz Bibi, sister Amrana (35), brother Ali Hassan (20) and another daughter Amna (14) were also injured in the attack.

The suspect later also injured himself by the same knife.

Police and Rescue 1122 teams reached the spot and shifted the body and all the five injured to the DHQ Hospital, where doctors later referred two of the injured to the Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching Hospital, Gujrat.

Muhammad Parvez, the father of the suspect, said that his wife had left the house some days ago due to consistent domestic disputes and due to this, the accused was mentally disturbed.

Meanwhile, the police arrested the suspect in injured condition and shifted him to the hospital for treatment, whereas a case was yet to be lodged with the city’s Civil Lines Police station.
