RAWALPINDI: Over 15 electric buses have been handed over to the district administration of Murree to reduce environmental pollution and provide modern, safe and comfortable travel facilities to citizens and tourists.

Murree Deputy Commissioner Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi stated this while talking to the media and said that this project of the Punjab government will prove to be a historic milestone towards the promotion of eco-friendly and modern public transport in Murree.

He said that the inclusion of electric buses will significantly reduce air pollution and carbon emissions, which will help in further preserving the natural beauty of the hill station.

He said that through these modern buses, not only the local citizens of Murree but also millions of domestic and foreign tourists visiting Murree throughout the year will be provided with comfortable, safe, quality and low-cost travel facilities.

“Equipped with modern technology, these buses will provide the best travel experience for passengers,” he said.

The deputy commissioner said that under the project, modern electric charging stations will also be established to ensure uninterrupted service of buses, while these buses will be operated on important highways, tourist destinations and busy routes of Murree.

Mr Shirazi said that the Punjab government is paying special attention to the development of Murree, the provision of modern urban facilities and environment-friendly projects.
