KARACHI: Three men lost their lives in separate drowning incidents on Sunday, officials said.

Mauripur police SHO Aslam Khan said that two men drowned in the sea after they and their friends went for a picnic at Sandspit beach early on Sunday morning.

He added that the victims, identified as Zubair, 27, and Zohaib, 18, were bathing in the sea when strong waves swept them away.

Later, Edhi volunteers recovered their bodies from the sea, which were shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities.

Meanwhile, the body of a 71-year-old man, Mohammed Shafi, was found near Hub Dam Chowki No 3, an Edhi Foundation spokesperson said.

He added that the body was recovered and sent to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal proceedings.
