MTI Bannu forms committee to probe child’s death

BANNU: Medical Teaching Institution Bannu administration has expressed deep sorrow and regret over unfortunate death of a young child who was under treatment at Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital and has taken notice of the incident by constituting an inquiry committee.

According to hospital administration, the child was brought to the hospital in a critical condition suffering from meningitis and pneumonia. The medical team provided treatment and necessary care; however, despite all efforts, the child could not survive.

Following concerns raised by the child’s family regarding the treatment and other related matters, medical director MTI Bannu, Assistant Professor Farmanullah Wazir, has ordered a thorough and transparent investigation into the incident and constituted a special inquiry committee.

The committee will examine all aspects of the case. Upon completion of the investigation, strict action will be taken in accordance with rules and regulations if any negligence or misconduct is found on the part of any individual.

The MTI Bannu administration clarified that the child was admitted in a serious medical condition. Pneumonia and other severe infections can sometimes become life-threatening despite medical intervention.
