Five shot dead in Bannu

BANNU: Five people were killed while a woman and a child sustained injuries when unidentified armed assailants opened fire in Shabri Kalla Bharat area here on Thursday.

According to police, a team was rushed to the scene after receiving the information about the incident and found five bodies along with two injured persons.

The deceased were identified as Junaid and Sunaid, sons of Rais Khan, their mother, widow of Rais Khan, Amjad, son of Mir Nawaz a resident of Shabri Kalla Bharat and Alam Zeb, son of Noor Rahman, a resident of Mir Ali, North Waziristan.

Police said that 17-year-old Sonia and nine-year-old Aisha were injured in the incident and were shifted to a hospital.

According to preliminary investigations, unidentified assailants shot the victims dead for reasons that remain unknown so far, Mandan police said.

The police have registered a case against unidentified suspects on the complaint of the SHO Mandan and launched an investigation.
