Youth shot dead over mobile phone video

GUJRAT: A youth was shot dead for having a recording of diesel theft in his cell phone at village Dhunni of the Saddar Kharian area.

The suspects, Aqib, Salman, Daniyal of village Dhow along with an unidentified accomplice, barged into an under-construction building of Aamir Shahzad in Dhunni village and started snatching the phone from Muhammad Yousaf of Muzaffargarh district who was living in the area.

The suspects also started torturing Mujahid Hussain, the uncle of Yousaf, and forced him to get the cell phone of the latter.

The suspects then snatched the cell phone and opened fire at Yousaf, leaving him dead, and fled the scene.

Ghulam Yaseen, a close kin of Yousaf and the complainant in the case, alleged that he had a recording of diesel theft from the tractor of a landlord, Amir Shahzad, which the suspects wanted to delete.

Police registered a case and arrested three of the four nominated suspects.

TRAFFICKERS: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested 23 suspects for human trafficking during the last one week in the Gujranwala region.

The suspects also include six proclaimed offenders.

A spokesman for the FIA said the arrested suspects were involved in the financial scam of Rs49m through fraud with their clients on the pretext of sending them abroad.

The arrested human traffickers include Allah Ditta who received a sum of Rs12.5m from a citizen to send him to Canada whereas the other arrested suspects are Muhammad Yousaf, Zainul Abedin and Muhammad Asghar .

Two suspects were involved in Umrah visa fraud and one was arrested for money laundering.
