Rapist sentenced to life jail term

SARGODHA: The court of additional district and sessions Judge, while pronouncing the verdict in a rape case of a woman, sentenced a fake faith healer to life imprisonment with hard labour and a fine of Rs 500,000.

Satellite Town police said Sufi Muhammad Bilal had lured the woman under the pretext of her treatment and raped her. The judge sentenced him on Saturday after he was found guilty.

MURDER: The manager of a hotel was butchered to death by a staff member who was fired a day earlier due to mischief and corrupt practices in the area of Jhal Chakian.

According to Jhal Chakian Police, Muhammad Ramzan, the hotel manager, was killed by Abdul Rehman with repeated hatchet blows on head.

The police arrested the suspect.

ELECTROCUTED: A Fesco employee was badly burned while working on an electric pole in Sargodha city.

Zaheer Abbas, a 40-year-old employee of Fesco City Subdivision, was shifted to a hospital after he touched a live wire.

Fesco officials shifted him to the DHQ Teaching Hospital after providing immediate medical assistance.

FIRE: A fire broke out in bushes in the Boys College Grounds of Sargodha city.

Rescue staff took immediate action and brought the fire under control.
