MANSEHRA: A woman tourist from Sheikhupura district was killed, and seven other members of her family were injured when their car collided with a pickup vehicle in the Mahandri area of Kaghan Valley on Saturday.
The tourist family was returning home after a recreational trip to Kaghan Valley.
The rescuers and residents shifted the injured to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Balakot, where doctors pronounced a woman, Saima Bibi, dead.
The injured were then referred to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital, Mansehra, for further treatment.
Rescue 1122 district emergency officer said that the body was dispatched to Punjab after completion of medico-legal formalities.
The Balakot police registered an FIR and launched an investigation to arrest the driver of the pickup vehicle, who fled the scene.
In another incident, a jeep struck two women tourists on a footpath in Naran, leaving them seriously injured.
