Trump says 'you would never have the Hormuz Strait open' without US-Iran deal

Addressing the G7 conference in Evian, France, President Donald Trump says the United States reached an agreement with Iran on Sunday to end the war, reopen the Strait of Hormuz and prevent them from acquiring a nuclear weapon.

“They can’t develop it, buy it, they can never have a nuclear weapon,” he says, noting that the stock market has “surged” after Iran started making “very positive statements”.

Trump claims that had the agreement not been reached, the US would continue bombing Iran for at least three weeks.

“You would never have the Hormuz Strait open, you would never have success,” he claims.
