Academics from 11 Bangladeshi varsities visit Hyderabad’s teaching hospital

HYDERABAD: A delegation representing 11 universities of Bangladesh visited the Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences (LUMHS) in Jamshoro on Sunday to reinforce academic cooperation, research partnerships and student exchange opportunities between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Led by Jahanzeb Khan, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Project Director for Global Engagement, the delegation comprised prominent academics, including Prof Dr S.M. Kamruzzaman, Prof Dr Shamiul Islam, Prof Dr Hasnat Kabir, Dr Abul Kalam Sarker, Prof Dr Abdul Karim, Prof Dr Serajul Hoque, Prof Dr Mahfuz Parvez, Prof Dr Enayet Ullah Patwary, Prof Dr Muhammad Shahbuddin, Prof Dr Shajedul Karim, Dr Monirul Islam, Prof Dr M. Mahfuzur Rahman, Dr Shazzad Hosain, Dr Afsana Akhtar, Prof Dr Shahjahan Khan and Prof Dr Abdul Kadar Muhammad Masum.

Accompanied by LUMHS Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Ikram Din Ujjan and senior university officials, the academics inspected educational facilities, laboratories, teaching infrastructure and student support services on the campus.

The itinerary also included a tour of the sports complex where the VC briefed the guests on the extracurricular opportunities available to students.

Welcoming the delegation, Prof Dr Ujjan emphasised that cross-border academic and research collaboration is “the need of the hour”.

He sais that LUMHS is not only delivering high-quality medical education, but also fostering innovation, research and international institutional linkages.

The Bangladeshi delegates praised the university’s academic standards, modern infrastructure and hospitality. They noted that the campus effectively aligns its practical training and research environment with contemporary global standards.

They expressed their gratitude to Dr Ujjan for the warm reception and voiced shared hopes for sustained academic and scientific cooperation between Bangladeshi universities and LUMHS in the future.
