KARACHI: A 40-year-old man tested positive for mpox on Saturday, raising the total number of confirmed cases to at least 35 this year in Sindh.

Sources said that the patient, a resident of Gulistan-i-Jauhar, had no international travel history. The patient stayed in Gambat for two weeks prior to reporting at the Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital and Research Centre two days back.

He is currently stable.

This raises the city’s total confirmed cases to 10. At least nine deaths have been reported in the province this year.
