NAROWAL: Residents of the Defense Colony area of the city have been complaining against the sewage water accumulation in the area for the past five days due to a blockage of the main sewerage pipeline.

Due to the blockage of the main pipeline opposite Narowal Gymkhana on the Circular Road, sewage water has accumulated on the roads including the main road and link roads of the Defense Colony.

Local residents Muhammad Faraz and Ali Rizwan said that citizens had been facing severe difficulties due to the intense heat and the blocked sewerage pipeline.

They said that insects enter their homes from the accumulated waste water on the roads. They said that there was also a constant fear of being bitten by poisonous insects.

They said that they were suffering due to the stench emanating from the dirty water.

Muhammad Amin and Hussain Ali said that the municipal committee, Suthra Punjab, Wasa and district administration had requested several times to open the blocked pipeline. However, they said that the administration and other concerned institutions had not taken any notice.

While protesting, the citizens demanded Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to take strict notice of the situation.
