PESHAWAR: In a move to improve passenger travel, Pakistan Railways has introduced a second upgraded rake for the Awam Express, which has commenced service from Peshawar to Karachi.

The newly upgraded train was formally seen off by Divisional Superintendent Peshawar, Imran Hayat, along with divisional railway officials. Passengers travelling on the Awam Express welcomed the initiative and termed it a positive step towards enhancing rail travel standards.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Hayat said that providing safe and comfortable travel to passengers remained Pakistan Railways’ top priority in line with the vision of Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi.

He said the upgradation of the Awam Express and the provision of new rakes had been made possible through the efforts of Chief Executive Officer and Senior General Manager Pakistan Railways, Hafeezullah.

The initiative, he added, would not only provide passengers with a better travel environment but would also significantly improve the overall standard of train services.

Mr Hayat said Pakistan Railways’ Peshawar Division was continuing to improve the railway system and facilitate passengers.

“With the addition of the second upgraded rake to the Awam Express, passengers will benefit from modern facilities, improved seating arrangements and a more comfortable journey,” he said.

The divisional superintendent reaffirmed Pakistan Railways’ commitment to meeting public expectations by continuing efforts to provide modern, safe and reliable transportation across the country.
