Water expert Obayo Khushk laid to rest

THATTA: Renowned water expert and author, Mohammad Obayo Khushk, passed away at a private hospital in Karachi late on Friday night after a prolonged illness. He was 76.

His body was brought to Thatta, where funeral prayers were offered in Kashigar Mohalla. A large number of his relatives, friends, political leaders, writers, historians journalists and social activists attended the funeral.

They included provincial ministers Mohammad Ali Malkani and Riaz Shah Shirazi; MNA Sadiq Ali Memon, District Council Chairman Abdul Hamid Panhwar, historian Dr Mohammad Ali Manjhi, Sindhi Adabi Sangat leader Ramzan Memon, nationalist leaders Abdul Khaliq Junejo and Nawaz Khan Zenwar, besides office-bearers and members of different press clubs.

Born on Sept 2, 1949 in Darrosh village of Ghorabari taluka, Khushk was laid to rest in his ancestral village of Pir Patho in Thatta district.
