LAKKI MARWAT: Experts at a training session have asked investigators of the police department to familiarise themselves with the effective use of investigation kits and improve their skills for protecting crime scenes, collecting evidence in a scientific manner and finalisation of documentation procedure.
The session was arranged on the special instructions of Regional Police Officer Kohat Irfan Tariq and District Police Officer Karak Imran Khan at the police lines in Karak city on Friday.
Speakers included superintendent of police Investigation Kamal Hussain, district public prosecutor Attaullah Khan and inspector investigation branch Muhammad Rahim.
Mr Hussain said that a consignment of investigation kits recently received from additional inspector general of police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had been handed over to the investigation staff of the police department in Karak district.
He underlined the importance of the effective use of investigation kits to solve various types of crime cases and said that scientific-based, impartial and transparent investigation would enable investigators of the police department to punish guilty people through the court of law and prevent innocent citizens from being penalised.
Experts shed light on the effective use of modern investigation kits and fingerprint kits and asked the investigators to ensure crime scene security, accurate identification of evidence, photography and chain of custody.
They urged the investigation officers to complete the investigation purely on merit with strict adherence to transparency and professionalism.
The participants of the training session also took part in practical exercises to learn accurate and effective use of investigation equipment.
