US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Thursday that the US is continuing its ‘Economic Fury’ campaign against Iran, highlighting the following measures:
- Iran’s Persian Gulf Strait Authority has been sanctioned, with corporations and states warned against paying tolls or making aid payments.
- The US Naval blockade has prevented Iranian crude from making it to the open seas.
- The US is also shutting down Iranian airlines’ access to landing spots, refueling, and ticket sales.
“Only a satisfactory outcome in negotiations will end the downward spiral,” he warned.
