A Lebanese military source tells AFP that an Israeli strike hit an apartment south of Beirut on Thursday, shortly after Israel’s military claimed it launched a strike on the capital.

“An Israeli strike targeted an apartment in the Choueifat area,” the military source says on condition of anonymity, while AFPTV footage shows smoke rising from the area on the edge of Beirut’s southern suburbs, a Hezbollah stronghold.
