Seminary teacher arrested for ‘torturing’ student

TAXILA: Police on Tuesday arrested a seminary teacher for alledgedly torturing a teenage student in Fatehjang for not remembering lessons.

The victim’s father reported to police that his 13-year-old son is a student of a local seminary.

He said that when his son came to home on Tuesday to celebrate the Eid, he revealed severe torture marks on different parts of his body disclosing that his teacher has subjected him to torture and threatened to kill him if he revealed the ordeal to his parents. Police have registered a case and arrested the teacher.

Meanwhile, Bassal Police arrested a suspect for attempting to sexually assault a minor boy in Thatta village on Tuesday.

The victim’s father reported to police that his six-year-old son was playing outside his house when the suspect lured him to his house and attempted to sexually assault him.

He added that as the victim voiced alarm, he managed to escape from the scene.
