PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has extended heartfelt Eidul Azha greetings to the entire nation, especially the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on this joyous occasion.

In his congratulatory message on Eidul Azha, the chief minister said that Eidul Azha was a great religious festival of the Islamic world that teaches us the values of sacrifice, devotion, love, brotherhood, unity and mutual compassion, said a statement issued here on Tuesday.

This blessed day revives the memory of the unparalleled obedience and sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) and Hazrat Ismail (A.S) and their spirit of seeking the pleasure of Allah Almighty.

The chief minister stated that performing the Sunnah of Ibrahim (A.S) not only encourages us to attain the pleasure of Allah Almighty but also gives us the practical lesson of sharing the sorrows of the deprived and needy segments of society, helping them and including them in our celebrations.

He urged affluent individuals to ensure they include the poor, deserving and vulnerable segments in their Eid festivities, as this is the true spirit of this great Islamic festival and a demand of the highest human values.

Meanwhile, the chief minister has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the tragic terrorist incident in Quetta that resulted in the loss of precious lives and injuries to innocent people.

In a letter addressed to Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti, the chief minister extended heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies on behalf of the government and people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the bereaved families of the victims.

Muhammad Sohail Afridi reaffirmed complete solidarity with the government and people of Balochistan during this difficult time, stating that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stand shoulder to shoulder with their brothers and sisters in Balochistan in the face of this tragedy.
