PESHAWAR: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar Dr Mian Saeed Ahmad on Monday commended cooperation from the United Nations (UN) Women for setting up a women’s facilitation centre here.

After the inauguration of the centre established in collaboration between the city police and UN Women, Dr Ahmad said that the facility would help resolve issues of the people living on the outskirts of the provincial capital, especially women.

“This initiative will also lead to a significant improvement in the performance of women police officers and public trust,” the CCPO said in a statement issued by the city police.

According to the official statement, the initiative was aimed at providing immediate relief to affected women, prioritising the resolution of their routine issues and promoting their welfare.
