ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has urged Muslims to inculcate the spirit of Haj through sacrifice, patience, equality, brotherhood and obedience to Allah Almighty.

Mr Gilani extended heartfelt felicitations to Muslims across Pakistan and around the world, as well as to pilgrims performing Haj, on the blessed occasions of Haj and Youm-i-Arafah.

He said that Haj is a profound manifestation of faith, reminding Muslims of their collective responsibility towards unity, service to humanity, and obedience to their Creator. The Chairman Senate stated that Youm-e-Arafah is a day of immense mercy, forgiveness, and acceptance of prayers.

He noted that the gathering of millions of Muslims in the plains of Arafat reflects the spirit of unity and equality in Islam, where all distinctions of race, language, nationality, and status disappear before the Almighty. Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani urged pilgrims and the entire Muslim Ummah to pray for peace, stability, and prosperity in Pakistan and for an end to conflicts, hatred, and suffering across the world.

He emphasized that these blessed days offer a unique opportunity for spiritual reflection and supplication, particularly as the prayers of Hajj pilgrims hold special significance. The Chairman Senate said that the timeless example of sacrifice and devotion set by Hazrat Ibrahim (Alaih Salam) and Hazrat Ismail (Alaih Salam) continues to inspire humanity.

He stressed the need for greater unity, tolerance, mutual respect, and cooperation among Muslim nations, and prayed that Allah Almighty accept the Hajj, prayers, and sacrifices of all pilgrims, grant peace and prosperity to Pakistan, and bless the entire world with harmony, compassion, and goodwill.

Meanwhile, Speaker National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also congratulated and extended good wishes to all Hujjaj on the auspicious occasion of Youm-i-Arafah, stating that Haj is one of the most significant pillars of Islam, embodying the true spirit of brotherhood, equality, sacrifice, and unity among Muslims.

He said that the observance of Hajj serves as a means of attaining the pleasure of Allah Almighty, spiritual purification, and forgiveness of sins.

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that Youm-i-Arafah is a day that offers believers an opportunity for humility, repentance, and seeking forgiveness before Allah Almighty. He noted that the gathering of millions of Muslims from around the world at Maidan-i-Arafat presents a magnificent picture of unity and solidarity of the Muslim Ummah.

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq further stated that Youm-i-Arafah imparts the values of patience, sacrifice, selflessness, piety, and service to humanity.

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also prayed for peace, progress, and prosperity for Pakistan, and for unity, stability, and brotherhood among the entire Muslim Ummah.
