Zaman to lead Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, July 5: Mohammad Zaman is to lead Pakistan at the 9th Al-Rashid International volleyball tournament in Dubai this month.

The Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) on Wednesday named a squad of 12 players and four officials among them new head coach from Bulgaria, Strahil Pantchev Balov.

The participating teams at the July 12-19 championship are UAE (seniors and juniors), India, Slovenia, Slovakia, Oman and Iran besides Pakistan.

The spikers leave for Dubai on Sunday.

Squad: Mohammad Zaman (captain), Imran Ali, Kashif Mansoor, Mohammad Zafar Iqbal, Mohaib Rasool, Naseer Ahmed, Zaheer Abbas, Zaheer Khan, Ismail Khan, Bakht Rasal, Ali Abbas, Mohammad Tariq Waseem.

Officials: Zafar Abbas (chef-de-mission), Mohammad Shahid Kamal (assistant manager), Strahil Pantchev Balov (head coach), Mohammad Ashraf (assistant coach).
