3 children killed in roof collapse in KP's Charsadda

CHARSADDA: At least three children were killed while a couple was seriously injured after the roof of a house collapsed in Prang Majoki area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Charsadda district on Saturday, rescue officials said.

According to Rescue 1122, the roof had suddenly caved in, trapping five members of a family under the debris.

Rescue teams rushed to the site and launched an operation to retrieve the victims.

The deceased were identified as Sajawal, 12, Abu Bakar, 3, and Umair, 2, while the injured were identified as Ajad, 35, and his wife, Naila, 25. They were shifted to the district headquarters hospital for medical treatment.

In January, six people were killed, including a mother and three daughters, and five were injured after the dilapidated roof of a house collapsed in Shabqadar tehsil of Charsadda district.

Last year, a roof collapse killed five members of a family, including four children, in the Pabbi area of Nowshera district and injured three others.
